  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with chopped onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture and half of the creamy sauce. Repeat the layers.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
