  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup warm water or warm milk
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 7 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl with a dough hook, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm liquid and honey; knead until smooth.
  2. Cover and let dough rise in a warm place for 30 minutes to 1 hour until doubled.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Mix granulated sugar with cinnamon; set aside.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread with butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Fold in half and cut into strips. Twist each strip into knots.
  6. Combine remaining melted butter with brown sugar and cinnamon; spoon over knots on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for about 16-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While baking, prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and enough water until smooth. Drizzle over warm knots before serving.
