  • ½ cup almond paste
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (for filling)
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine almond paste, softened butter, granulated sugar, one egg, almond extract, vanilla extract, salt, and flour until smooth.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into rectangles or keep whole.
  4. Spoon the almond cream down the center of each piece of pastry while leaving edges clear. Fold over if desired and seal with a fork.
